A collection · for when hope runs thin
Hope is not wishful thinking. Wishful thinking hangs on circumstances; biblical hope hangs on the character of God — and that is a far sturdier hook. When the road ahead is hidden, Jeremiah hands us this: "plans to give you a future and a hope" (Jeremiah 29:11). When yesterday left you depleted, Lamentations answers: "his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning" (Lamentations 3:22-23). And the deepest anchor of all is an empty tomb — "a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead" (1 Peter 1:3). These devotionals are for the seasons when hope runs thin: when you are waiting, weary, or unsure the morning will be any different. It will. Read one, let the verse settle, and notice how it quietly tilts your eyes from what ended toward what God is still doing. Hope, it turns out, is a Person — and He has not let go of you.
