Hello, my friend… so glad you're with me today. This is By God's Call — day 260, Love That Never Ends.

"For the LORD is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations." Psalm one hundred, verse five.

Let that land. The psalmist doesn't open with a request. He doesn't open with a command. He opens with a fact — a fact about who God is. The LORD is good. Not that he does good things when the mood strikes. Not that he acts kindly when we deserve it. Goodness is what he is. At his core, in his very nature, without exception.

And then comes the word that changes everything: hesed. In the original Hebrew, hesed is loyal love, covenant love — the love that will not let you go. It is not a feeling that tracks your performance, rising when you get it right and fading when you fall short. No. This love is the ground beneath your feet right now. Solid. Unshakable. And it endures forever.

Forever — that means when you doubted, it did not weaken. When you failed — and all of us have failed — it did not leave. Christ on the cross was the most definitive proof the world has ever seen: this love does not flinch at pain, does not retreat at betrayal, does not stop even at death. It goes straight through.

And it did not start with you. God's faithfulness arrives to you carrying centuries — centuries of promises made and kept, of generations who called his name and were answered. You are not beginning from nothing. You inherit a history of faith. Every time God was faithful yesterday, he is being faithful in you today.

But there is still more. This love does not sit quietly and wait for you to find your way back. Jesus told the story of the shepherd who leaves the ninety-nine and goes — goes — after the one that is lost. He doesn't send someone else. He goes himself. You are someone God went looking for. Maybe this week has been hard, maybe doubt hit you harder than you expected, maybe you feel like you've drifted. He has not stopped coming after you. This love pursues.

And a love like that — eternal, loyal, pursuing — deserves a response. Not out of duty. Out of joy.

So today, before breakfast, stop for just a moment. Think of one concrete way — one real situation, from this week — that God's love held you up. It doesn't have to be dramatic. It can be quiet and small. And when you find it, don't just keep it in your head. Say it out loud to him: "Lord, I saw Your goodness right there." Speak it. Let it come out of your mouth. Because gratitude spoken aloud is faith growing stronger.

Stay close to God. Pray — then act. I'll see you tomorrow, my friend.
